Clock hands are metal and most have a distressed finish. Hand colors and styles may vary from that pictured based on availability. Our clocks do not include a seconds hand. Promoting a vintage appearance, clock faces are not covered and are easily read without competing glare from an outer lens. QUIET ENOUGH FOR A BEDROOM: Our quality, quartz time movements are quiet. They require one AA battery that is not included. It's important to use a new battery with a recent freshness date. Even an unused battery can lose charge over time.
