Superb!!
Bought this cast iron skillet some years ago and could not be happier. It comes preseasoned but that seasoning doesn't last long. I had to un-rust the skillet and reseason a few times but it was totally worth the effort. Now it cleans like a dream with little more than a soapy rag and cooks SO well. This pan has become a staple in my house and will cook anything. I can't even remember what I used before. I know I sound like a raving fool but this really has worked out well for me. The Boy Scout emblem is nice but I think I initially chose this skillet because it was the only one that was part of an Amazon promotion: buy 3 get 1 free in cookware. I bought a lid to go with it and a couple of other cast iron items included in the promotion. The pan is heavy as most cast iron cookware tends to be but I'm so used to it now. I wouldn't trade my cast iron cookware for anything. So glad I upgraded.

Good product, great service.
It arrived with a broken handle. As you can see in the picture, the handle is a little samll for a heavy skillet like this one. But no problem, I packed it up, returned it, and a replacement was received considabily fast! (for super saver free shipping, Amazon probably lost money on this purchase for sending the heavy skillet 3 times (original, return, and replacement). Great service Amazon! I had no experience using cast-iron cookware prior to this one but I consider myself and pretty good cook. I did a lot of reading and research on cast iron, and gave this a try. It works great! The pre-season coating worked as promised. I use it to prepare steak mostly and the result was nice. I am still experimenting and adjusting cook time as this piece works differently than any other cookware I had before, but I like what it can do so far. I have seen the same skillet (except for the boy scouts logo) selling cheaper at Walmart. But for something that heavy, I can understand the extra cost even just for shipping. I have not seen one with the boy scout logo anywhere and I think it looks a lot more handsome that the regular one. Combining the 2 factors, I think the extra few dollars was well worthed. Ever since I have the skillet, I am constantly watching for good steak on sale from the local georcery so I can do more (rewarding) experiments.

I Can Smell the Bacon Cooking Already
I have owned and used Lodge Cast Iron cookware for many years. They are superior cooking vessels. I already own the Lodge Camp Dutch Oven with the Boy Scouts logo, so I just had to complete the set with this 12" Boy Scout skillet. I am a former Boy Scout back in the late 1960's, so it does bring back memories for me. You can purchse the standard 12" Lodge cast iron skillet for about $10 less than the Boy Scout version, but for me the the Boy Scout logo on the bottom just adds nostalgia to the skillet. I had some accrued Amazon points available so I only paid $20 for my 12" Boy Scout skillet. I think that this would be a perfect gift for the Boy or Girl Scout in your family. If they take care of it, oil it after every use, it should last their lifetime. What could you buy for your child for about $30 that has the potential to last a lifetime? I can smell the bacon cooking already.

From your kitchen pan to your heirs
This has been with me for quite sometime. This This is very durable that you can even pass it to your heirs in the future with the proper care. Its easy to clean, You can just rinse it with water, heat it to dry and season it with oil and you're done. Easy as that. Its not that lightweight because its cast iron. Cooking with cast iron makes your dish have a natural smoky flavor. and the heat distribution is perfect. Size 10 is a perfect size for a family of 4.

Great pan, kinda wish I had gotten the plain one
The Lodge products are all great of course. I got the boy scout one because I thought it was cute and my son will be boy scout age soon. I had Leave It To Beaver visions of myself cooking pancakes for my son and his boy scout buddies in my boy scout cast iron skillet. The problem is the emblem on the bottom, and my gas stove, don't really mix for an even surface. I have to move it around to find just the right angle for it to sit straight. A small problem I worked out, but a plain one would have been a better choice I think.

Great price for this size skillet
If you use cast iron and involved in Scouting this is for you. It's a great price on a 12 inch skillet and has the Scouting America symbol.

Best 30 bucks you’ll spend on Amazon, I promise!
Hello incredibly flavored fajitas. Hello deep skillet berry crumbles. Hello burgers with the perfect seared crust. I buy a lot of dumb stuff on Amazon but this has been one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to spend $30 on this versatile skillet. Easy to clean, it’s already seasoned, and cooking has been fun trying out new things! Love this!

Great pan
This is a great cast iron skillet. Very heavy and it just feels like a solid piece. The only complaint is, the handle could be a few inches longer. It’s a little hard to hold with food in it, combined with its weight.

Amazing creation this. You can use it for frying, baking, burglars, camp fires. The Jamie Oliver pizza made in this US beauty is the best she's ever made! Don't buy if you have a weak wrist though...
