This little plastic piece will stop your vehicle. When mine broke the shift cable came off the shifter resulting in my vehicle being stuck in Drive. Installation is relatively easy and the little plastic tool works perfectly to install the bushing.

I found the item to fit well. It was easy to remove the old one and install this one. It came with two in the package and the tool, so I have a spare. I found it works well and it is a good value. Yes I would recommend this product.

So glad I found this. Put my 2006 Nissan Pathfinder in reverse one morning to back out the driveway and when I went to drive had a little surprise. I called all the parts stores and no one has a replacement part for it. Searched online and found this and figured for the price it was worth a try. Next option is $140 for a new cable and shift mechanism. Took about an hour and a YouTube video but was fairly easy to install. I definitely can feel the difference, the shifter feels tight and smooth.

Nothing like jumping in your truck and it only will go in reverse whichever gear you put it in. Shut it off and of course it won’t start again. Sit back and think about it for a minute and then realize it’s got something to do with the linkage. Put on parking brake and scotch those wheels if your brake doesn’t work good and get under truck and manually move to park. It’s on the right side of the transmission on Titan. Crawl back out and it’ll start. On floor shifter unscrew shift knob and either turn on key but don’t start and move shifter down to neutral or drive. Grab the plastic trim and pull straight up and set aside. Shift cable will be broken where it attaches to shifter. The little piece of plasticized rubber that you just bought will fix that. It’ll be easier if you pull the clip out and that’ll give you room to push new bushing in. The little supplied tool and maybe a pair of pliers for the clip is really all you need. The part that I bought didn’t have the grease packet and you will need a tiny bit of grease for the shaft that the bushing fits on to. Reassemble and you done brother. Drink a beer and think about how much you saved. Save the coins that you found when you got in there.

This part worked perfectly! I don’t have any idea what that other orange plastic dohickey thing is in the package but the gray plastic retainer worked flawlessly! You won’t regret it! If your vehicle is 15 years old you might want to preemptively replace it before it falls apart and the shift cable pops off of the shifter mechanism! Just sayin!🤣
