I've tried everything when it comes to merging two pieces of aluminum with heat... TIG is by FAR the best.... these bernzomatic sticks are second. the cheap, crappy chinese ones where you get 50 for $15.00... don't waste your time, much less your money on them...

The issue is the material... aluminum will go from a solid to a liquid quickly! It goes from liquid to gas even faster! So if you're working with thin aluminum and you wanna braze it. Use a $12.00 novelty butane torch with a wide flame! No pencil torches!  Unless you just don't like the customer and you wanna waste some time watching your work piece disintegrate into nothing, lol...

I mean, there's very little molten drip if any... it'll go from solid to gas in a blink... so heat the area evenly and make sure your bond it true by using a small pointed hammer, like a baby chip hammer made of brass! If your weld sux, it'll break free under light to moderate tapping.

Do you need to use an aluminum flux with this product ?

No i did not use flux it has some in it but you may need more flux if you work with it too long, i used it on A380 aluminum alloy and it was fine.And the shipping takes a longtime so if you can look for it at Homedepot sometimes they have it in stock.

I've seen were machinist has taken A threaded hole and cut the bolt off flush at the base and then center punch around the outer edges so that it doesn't move and then center punch the new true center and then drill and Tap it? Or even make the hole a lot bigger in order to use a larger bolt to accommodate the new hole to be drilled? Or even weld the hole shut in order to start over. It's been my experience that depending on the material you are working with that the welded approach can be very hard to drill back? High carbon steel. Hope this helps and good luck.
